Which jar is right for my dog?

The Forester's Guard is our daily foundation, for most dogs, most days. Trailhead Vigor is for working and adventure dogs, The Gray Muzzle Reserve is for seniors, and Riverbend Calm is for the watchful and the thunder-counting. How much do I give my dog each day?

Our suggested daily serving goes by weight: a quarter measure up to 25 lb, a half measure up to 50 lb, three quarters up to 90 lb, and one full measure for 90 lb and up. We hold the line at one full measure even for dogs beyond 140 lb. There's a Measure calculator on the homepage, and for puppies under a year please ask your veterinarian first.

How long does one jar last?

Each jar holds 60 measures, so it lasts about 240 days for a small dog, 120 for a medium dog, 80 for a large dog and 60 for the largest dogs. If two dogs share a jar, it will empty sooner. Our Measure calculator on the homepage can work it out for your dog.

How much is shipping, and when is it free?

Shipping is a flat $15 anywhere in Canada, and it's free on orders of $125 or more after pack savings. New correspondents also get a free-shipping code for their first order by signing up for our letters in the footer.

Do you ship to the United States?

Not yet, I'm sorry to say. For now we ship within Canada only, and not to the US or abroad.

Question 6

What is a Standing Order, and can I pause it?

A Standing Order sends your jar every month at a lower price, for example $61.20 instead of $68 for The Forester's Guard. You can skip a delivery or pause for 1 to 3 months from your account page, or cancel by writing to us. The Discovery Dram isn't available as a Standing Order.

Can I give two jars together?

Many of our dogs do get a pairing; the quiz suggests Trailhead Vigor with The Forester's Guard for working and adventure dogs, or The Forester's Guard with Riverbend Calm for the professional house dog. I can't offer dosing advice beyond the Measure, so for how to combine them in a day, please write to us. If your dog has any health concerns, ask your veterinarian first. Ordering two jars saves 10%, and three or more saves 15%.

Is it safe with my dog's medication?

Our jars are wellness preparations meant to support everyday wellbeing, and I can't give medical advice. If your dog takes any medication, please ask your veterinarian before starting anything new. They know your dog's full picture.

Question 9

Where do the mushrooms come from?

Accepted Answer

Our turkey tail is wild-gathered after the first frost, while our cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) is cultivated and never wild-taken. The Gray Muzzle Reserve uses lion's mane (Hericium americanum) with reishi (Ganoderma tsugae). For the story of your particular jar, the Batch Ledger shows where it grew and when it was gathered.

How do I see the lab results for my jar?

Every jar has a batch number on its base. Enter it in the Batch Ledger on our homepage, or scan the QR code on the label. You'll see where it grew, when it was gathered and the lab results, with a certificate you can download.

Question 11

What if my dog won't eat it?

Accepted Answer

I don't have more guidance than the Measure itself, so please write to us and we'll help as best we can. If your dog is turning away from food in general, or just seems off, that's a question for your veterinarian.

How do returns work?

Accepted Answer

Write to us with your order reference. We refund within 10 business days of the jar reaching us. Return shipping is on you, unless the jar arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered.
