Which jar is right for my dog?

The Forester's Guard is our daily foundation, for most dogs, most days. Trailhead Vigor is for working and adventure dogs, The Gray Muzzle Reserve is for senior dogs, and Riverbend Calm is for the watchful and the thunder-counting. How much do I give my dog each day?

One measure a day, by weight: a quarter measure up to 25 lb, a half measure from 26 to 50 lb, three quarters from 51 to 90 lb, and one full measure over 90 lb. Sprinkle it on their food or mix it in, whatever your dog prefers. The How to use section on the Help page and every jar's page will work it out for your dog's weight. For puppies under a year, please ask your veterinarian first.

How long does one jar last?

Each jar holds 60 measures, so it lasts about 240 days for a dog up to 25 lb, 120 days from 26 to 50 lb, 80 days from 51 to 90 lb and 60 days over 90 lb. If two dogs share a jar, it empties sooner. Each jar's page shows the exact number for your dog's weight.

How much is shipping, and when is it free?

Shipping is a flat $15 anywhere in Canada, and free on orders of $125 or more before savings, so any two full jars ship free. Join the list and your first order ships free too.

Do you ship to the United States?

Not yet, I'm sorry to say. For now we ship within Canada only.

Not yet. Standing Orders are coming soon, but they aren't open yet. When they open, you'll be able to skip, pause or cancel from your account.

Can I give two jars together?

Accepted Answer

Many dogs do well with a pairing; the Find your jar quiz suggests Trailhead Vigor with The Forester's Guard for working and adventure dogs, or The Forester's Guard with Riverbend Calm for the house dog. I can't give dosing advice beyond the measure, so for how to combine them in a day, please write to us, and if your dog has any health concerns, ask your veterinarian first. Two jars save 10%, and three or more save 15%.

Is it safe with my dog's medication?

Our jars are wellness preparations meant to support everyday wellbeing, and I can't give medical advice. If your dog takes any medication, please ask your veterinarian before starting anything new. They know your dog's full picture.

Question 9

Where do the mushrooms come from?

Accepted Answer

Our turkey tail is wild-gathered after the first frost from fallen birch and poplar. Our cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) is cultivated, never wild-taken, and so are the reishi (Ganoderma tsugae) in Riverbend Calm and the lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) in The Gray Muzzle Reserve. Our Standard page lists the sourcing jar by jar.

Where will the lab results be published?

Every jar will carry a batch number on its base. The first batch results will be published on Our Standard page when ordering opens, with a certificate you can download.

Question 11

What if my dog won't eat it?

Accepted Answer

Try it the other way: sprinkled on top if you've been mixing it in, or mixed in if you've been sprinkling. If that doesn't help, write to us and we'll help as best we can. If your dog is turning away from food in general, or just seems off, that's a question for your veterinarian.

How do returns work?

Accepted Answer

Unopened jars can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Write to us with your order reference; we refund within 10 business days of the jar reaching us. If a jar arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, send us a photo within 14 days and we'll send a replacement at no cost.
